The representative choir

repres.jpg

The Efroni representative choir is composed of teenagers aged 12 to 18.

The representative choir operates as a professional body in all senses, it cooperates with different orchestras and artists such as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the Israeli Opera, and many others. Many composers have written and dedicated their work to the Efroni choir. Moreover, the choir often performs artistic adaptations of Hebrew songs, therefore expanding its Israeli repertoire. The choir also collaborates with Israeli pop composers and performers, which allows for a wider audience to get acquainted with this genre.

The Efroni choir collaborates with other youth choirs across Israel and the world, among which figure choirs of young Palestinian and Arab-Israeli girls. It also travels abroad often in order to represent the State of Israel at different festivals and competitions. In 2023, the choir was selected to participate to the prestigious Europäisches Jugendchorfestival choir festival (EJCF), where its performance was a great success.

Besides its musical activity, the choir constitutes a didactic framework for teens. Throughout the year, social events are held in parallel with lessons and enriching educational activities that deal with arts and culture. The representative choir serves as a hothouse to musicians and producers; many choir alumni became leading figures in the cultural and musical scenes in Israel and abroad.

Boys and girls aged 7 to 9 sing at Efroni’s little ones.

With Efroni's little ones, we focus on teaching the language of music and the theory of choir singing through singing, listening, movement, acting, fine arts, and improvisation.  Children experiment with singing in different languages, playing beats, and they learn to sing in a natural, relaxed manner. Efroni’s little ones perform at small community events taking place in the Emek Hefer area, thus gaining experience standing on stage and facing an audience.

Efroni’s little ones’ alumni are welcome to join Efroni’s young ones.

Opening hours:

Rehearsals take place on Sundays from 4:30pm to 5:45pm.

Singing Parents

הורים.jpg

The Efroni singing parents choir was established in 2021. The children’s parents, who also wanted to be part of the singing experience at the choir, decided it was time they sang, too, and created their own group.

Since then, the choir has expanded and includes adults of all ages, who share their love for singing and will to sing together.

Singers are involved in the choir’s lifestyle decisions as well as the process of choosing what goes in the repertoire, making the choir a place of community and sharing. The choir performs a varied repertoire, from adaptations of light music to modern-artistic music.

As part of a broad educational outlook, the choir’s singers learn to read sheet music, experience voice training and, of course, perform several times a year.

Opening hours:

Rehearsals take place on Sundays at 8:30 pm in Kfar Monash.

Conductor: Yael Binshtock Inbar

The ladies’ ensemble choir

אנסמבל.jpg

The ladies’ ensemble choir was established in 2021 thanks to the adults’ strong will to find a choir group that carries the Efroni essence, and to keep singing.

The ensemble is comprised of 15 ladies from all over Israel, who gather once a week in Emek Hefer to rehearse, just like when they were younger.

The repertoire includes old and new Israeli music, traditional Jewish songs, folklore from different cultures, Renaissance and classical, romantic music, and adaptations of songs especially written for the ladies’ ensemble choir.

Whether it be French, English, Finnish, German, or Latin, the ensemble pays heed to the original language the songs are sung in.

The ensemble’s conductor, Lily Solomonov, is also a choir alum.

Opening hours:

Rehearsals take place on Sundays at 8 pm.

Instructing: Lily Solomonov
